Where Do We Go From Here?
At any time, at any place, and from anybody, this question has resonated throughout history as important not only to the direction of a person, nation, race, or religion, but to the struggle inherent between the two major world views, secular and Christian.
As Christianity takes perhaps its hardest beating since the founding of Western civilization, I have to sit back and wonder what lies ahead, not only for me or my country, but for the entire human race.
Currently, it seems that Christianity is the only religion that is safe to deconstruct. Islam wants us dead, so do most politicians. The homosexual agenda wants to rip apart the very foundation of the Church by turning God’s most sacred creation, marriage, into nothing more than a mockery. Images of Mohammed cannot be displayed publicly for fear of insulting Muslim sensitivity, but Jesus Christ can be shown in cartoon form doing anything and everything unholy without fear. Muslims cry out and the world bows. Christians cry out and the world calls us bigots.
What is left of humanity? How can things like Entropy stand in the way of those created in the very image of God? Where do we go from here?
I refuse to believe that there is no hope left for this world. Sure, for those who believe, there is a destiny waiting, but what about the here and now? Can we, as Christians, make a difference? Can we take dominion over radical worldviews and political agendas? Should we? Would we?
In an age where most “Christians” suffer from Rick-Warrenitis and John-Hageeoma, do we, as a people, have the ability to step outside of ourselves for the good of our fellow man? Can we stop pining over God’s plan for our lives and go seek and save those who are lost? What is it going to take for our focus to switch from our own unhappiness and move onto the fact that every single non-believer living today is going to hell?
More Christ, less crying:
We need to stop believing people like Joel Osteen who make statements like this: “God wants to increase you! Believe God for promotion and He will take you to new heights.” and start believing in people like Jesus Christ that make statements like this: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.“ God does not work for us, we work for Him. Consider the lilies of the field. What do they do but that for which they were created? Yet they are taken care of with far more abundance than is needed to sustain them.
Listen to the Words of Christ, ”So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ Your heavenly Father knows [what you need]. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
More action, less acting
It is time for Christians everywhere to acknowledge the true problems that plague our society. Do you think people would want to abort their unborn children if the Truth of Christ filled their souls? It is time to stop acting like Christians and actually become them. Take the bull by the horns! When someone tries to admonish you for your stand against homosexuality, evolution, or for your belief that premarital relations are unholy, don’t take the bait. We are not the saviors of humanity, we merely carry the message. Their minds can only be changed by the Spirit of Truth. Show them their sin through the law of God and by doing so, allow the Holy Spirit work as a sword to cut the ties that bind them and bring them to repentance. Show them their Savior and the good news that, though they deserve eternal punishment in hell for their actions, they need not fear damnation because Christ has taken their sin, vaporized it, and given them eternal life. After Christ has their heart, their worldview belongs to Him and He will direct their steps.
So, where do we go from here? We start a guerilla war on sin and secularism. We take back what Jesus was beaten and killed for. We seek God’s kingdom and its righteousness and to our Savior, we bring as many as are willing.
